# JFT-Basic in Nepal (2026): test centres, fee, booking and retakes

Tests run in booking windows through the year, such as the October-November 2026 window, with test dates spread across each window. Seats fill quickly at busy times, so book as soon as you know your target date.

## How to book

1. Create a Prometric ID on the Prometric JFT-Basic site. Use your name, passport number and date of birth exactly as they appear on your passport.
2. Log in and choose the test, centre, date and time.
3. Pay the USD 36 fee by card or e-wallet, or enter a voucher number if you have one.
4. Book at least three business days before your test date, or four if the test falls on a weekend or holiday. Check the Prometric booking page for the deadline to change or cancel.

## On test day

Bring your original, valid passport; Prometric does not accept any other ID in Nepal, and the details must match your Prometric ID. The test takes 60 minutes for about 50 questions in four sections, and instructions can be shown in Nepali. Your total score and level appear on screen when you finish, and the official notification follows on the Prometric site within five business days. ## If you don't pass

You can retake JFT-Basic only if your total was 199 or lower, and there must be 45 days between the two test dates. Use that gap well: take a full mock to find the section costing you the most points, and spend most of the 45 days on it. Results never expire, so once you pass you don't need to sit it again.

### Do JFT-Basic results expire?

No. Results have no expiry date, though the online notification is only kept on the Prometric site for five years.
