- IDP, IELTS Academic / General Training (Computer): The table shows "~$361.00" and the fee "does not include taxes & GST"; the intro says it "ranges between CAD $335 and $361 before tax". Toronto session listings show CAD 379.
- IDP, IELTS for UKVI (Computer): No fee published; the price shows per session in IDP's test-date search.
- IDP, IELTS Life Skills (Face to face): No fee published; the price shows per session in IDP's test-date search.
- IDP, One Skill Retake (Computer): The table shows "~$253.00"; IDP's One Skill Retake page says it "costs between $199 and $229 without HST".
- British Council, One Skill Retake (Computer): ielts.ca says: "The IRCC has not endorsed the new IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)."

## How to book

- IDP: Book on IDP's test-dates page: choose a city or test centre and a session, register online with your identification documents ready, then pay by debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) or Interac online. [Book with IDP](https://ielts.idp.com/canada/test-dates)
- British Council: On ielts.ca, choose a province and city (or a format) and click Book test, which opens the British Council IELTS registration portal. One Skill Retake is booked through the Test Taker Portal. [Book with British Council](https://ieltsregistration.britishcouncil.org/)

## ID to bring

- IDP: Bring "either your passport or Permanent Resident Card, depending on which one you used for your IELTS test registration".
- British Council: The Canada pages give no ID list; they say to bring the identification "outlined in the documents you received when you registered for the test".

## Test dates and centres

- IDP: IELTS on computer runs almost every day at 180+ test centres in 50+ cities; IDP advises picking a date at least 2 to 3 months before your earliest application deadline. Centres: Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Vancouver, Surrey, Markham, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Burnaby, Charlottetown, Moncton, Kingston, Guelph.
- British Council: IELTS on computer runs "up to three times a day, seven days a week"; choose a city on ielts.ca to see dates. Centres: Calgary, Edmonton, Abbotsford, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria, Brandon, Winnipeg, Moncton, Saint John, Dartmouth, Halifax, Sydney, Ajax, Barrie, Milton, Brampton, Caledon, Cambridge, Etobicoke, Guelph, Hamilton, Scarborough, Kitchener, London, Markham, Mississauga, Niagara Falls, North York, Oakville, Ottawa, Richmond Hill, Sarnia, Sault Ste Marie, St. Catharines, Sudbury, Thornhill, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Vaughan, Waterloo, Whitby, Windsor, Charlottetown, Summerside, Montreal, Laval, Ville Saint-Laurent, Regina, Saskatoon, Aurora, Burlington, Fort Erie, Kingston, Langley, Lloydminster, Owen Sound, Penticton, Peterborough, Red Deer, Squamish, Truro, Whitchurch-Stouffville.

## Reschedule, cancel and refund

- IDP: IDP's reschedule and cancel page: cancel 15 or more days before your Listening, Reading and Writing test date for a refund less an admin charge; within 14 days the fee is non-refundable. With a medical certificate within 5 days you get a refund minus the local admin cost. IDP's cost page, FAQ and booking checklist still give a five-week rule.
- British Council: Cancel 15 or more days before the test for a 75% refund (25% admin fee); within 14 days there is no refund. Transfers are free 15 or more days before, cost 25% within 5-14 days, and are not allowed under 5 days. A One Skill Retake is 75% refundable more than 14 days before and not refundable within 14 days.

## Paper or computer

- IDP: IDP says it "no longer offers the IELTS on paper test" in Canada; the computer test with Writing on Paper is still offered.
- British Council: No full paper-based test is listed; the formats are IELTS on computer, IELTS on computer with Writing on Paper, and One Skill Retake.

## When results come

IELTS on computer and IELTS for UKVI results come in 1 to 5 days (most within 2), and a One Skill Retake in 3 to 5 days. Paper tests, where still offered, take up to 13 days.
