## Why these answers are right

**14. FALSE.** The statement says the islanders renamed their own islands Aleyska. Paragraph A says the native inhabitants used Aleyska for the land mass farther to the north, which we now call Alaska, not for the Aleutian Islands. Since the name referred to a different place, the statement is false.

**15. NOT GIVEN.** The statement is about who owns Alaska's fisheries. Paragraph B says the fisheries themselves have grown into some of the largest in the world, but it says nothing about owners or companies. The size of a fishery is not its ownership, so this is not given.

**16. TRUE.** Is life in Alaska dependent on salmon? Paragraph C quotes Susan Ewing saying salmon pump through Alaska like blood through a heart, nourishing land, animals and people, and adds that dying spawners feed bears, eagles and the soil. This picture of salmon as essential makes the statement true.
