## Why these answers are right

**1. teacher.** Paragraph B says that after university and training college O'Keeffe became an art teacher in schools and colleges in Virginia, Texas and South Carolina. Those states are the various places in the note, so the job she held was teacher.

**2. charcoal.** Paragraph C explains that O'Keeffe began creating abstract compositions in charcoal, and these drawings were later exhibited by Stieglitz in New York. The material she drew with was charcoal, which completes the note.

**3. skyscrapers.** Paragraph E reports that by the mid-1920s she was widely known for architectural pictures of the soaring skyscrapers of New York. Became famous matches widely known, and the city's buildings she painted were skyscrapers, written in the plural.
