**14. A.** You need the paragraph about the influence of home life. Paragraph A reports a close link between children's IQ scores and their home educational provision, measured by talk with parents and books and activities at home. Home is the domestic background, so the information is in paragraph A.

**15. D.** The item asks what learners lose when guided too much. Paragraph D warns that teachers who overdirect can reduce pupils' autonomy and that too much dependence on the teacher risks loss of autonomy and motivation to discover. Overdirecting is too much guidance, so the answer is D.

**16. F.** Anxiety is a form of fear, and the item wants its harmful effects. Paragraph F says negative emotions inhibit creative learning and that fear, for example, can limit the development of curiosity, which drives scientific progress.
