## Why these answers are right

**1. TRUE.** Paragraph A says that after leaving school Moore hoped to be a sculptor, but he complied with his father's wish and trained as a schoolteacher. To comply with a wish is to do what someone wants, so the statement is TRUE.

**2. FALSE.** Paragraph B explains that in his first year at Leeds Moore spent most of his time drawing, and no sculpture teacher was appointed until his second year. He could not have begun sculpture in his first term, so the statement is FALSE.

**3. NOT GIVEN.** The passage tells us Moore won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art and began three years of advanced sculpture study there, but it never comments on how good the college's sculpture teaching was considered. Its reputation is not mentioned, so the answer is NOT GIVEN.
