## Why these answers are right

**1. ii.** Paragraph B traces how tourism on a mass scale began, from the industrial revolution and cheap transport to commercial airlines and jets. Heading ii, the development of mass tourism, covers the whole paragraph.

**2. i.** Paragraph C opens by saying tourism has grown in economic and social importance, then backs this with figures on output, jobs and taxes and ends with its effect on society. That matches heading i, economic and social significance of tourism.

**3. v.** Paragraph D explains that the industry's diversity and fragmentation have hidden its economic impact, so visitor spending is easily overlooked and reliable data is hard to gather. This is heading v, difficulty in recognizing the economic effects of tourism.
