## Why these answers are right

**14. iii.** Section A tells how Janssen saw rooftop solar water heaters in Thailand in the 1990s and, twenty years later, turned that idea into a portable purifier. The section traces the journey from an idea to a finished device, which is heading iii.

**15. vi.** Section B opens by explaining that the Desolenator can take water from the sea, rivers, boreholes and rain and purify it for drinking. Purifying water from several different origins is exactly what heading vi, Cleaning water from a range of sources, describes.

**16. v.** Section C states that the device's main selling point is that, unlike standard desalination techniques, it needs no generated power, only sunlight. A feature that sets it apart from standard methods matches heading v, What makes the device different from alternatives.
