## Why these answers are right

**27. E.** You need a possible military use of AI. Paragraph E reports HNC's claim that its 30-processor system, backed by a government agency, could spot camouflaged vehicles on a battlefield. Battlefield detection is a military impact, so the information is in E.

**28. B.** This item is about AI combining separate research areas. Paragraph B says the new name covered previously disparate fields such as operations research, cybernetics, logic and computer science. "Previously disparate" matches "separate", so the answer is B.

**29. A.** You need the reason AI is being talked about again. Paragraph A says it re-entered public consciousness with the release of the movie AI, about a robot boy, and that this ignited public debate. A film release is the cause given, so the answer is A.
