Respond to a Situation #2 - Level 1 - Feeds Speaking

> Read the situation and listen to it. You have 10 seconds to prepare, then 40 seconds to respond as if you were speaking to the person in it.

You missed an important lecture because you were unwell and now need the notes to catch up. You see a classmate in the hallway and decide to ask if they'd be willing to share their notes with you. What would you say to your classmate?

## Answer

"Hey Rachel, I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to ask if you'd be willing to share your notes from the lecture we had the other day. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend because I wasn't feeling well, and I'm trying to catch up. If you could send me your notes or let me know when would be a good time to go over them, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much for your help!"

## Explanation

A successful response clearly states the reason for the absence, expresses regret for missing the class, and politely asks for the notes while offering to return the favor.

## Hints

- Start by greeting your classmate and explaining that you were unwell and missed the lecture.
- Politely ask if they would be willing to share their notes and offer to help them in the future if they ever need it.
