## Answer

Technology has changed almost every aspect of how people communicate, from video calls to instant messaging. In my view, it has had a major influence on the quality of interpersonal communication. Overall, I believe this influence is more positive than negative, although it has weakened some aspects of face-to-face interaction.

The main positive effect is that technology helps people maintain close relationships across long distances. In the past, families separated by migration might exchange letters only a few times a year. Today, video calls allow them to see each other's faces, share daily news and celebrate events together in real time. For example, a student studying abroad can join a family birthday dinner through a tablet and still feel included. Such frequent contact can make relationships stronger and more emotionally rich.

On the negative side, constant digital communication can reduce the depth of conversations held in person. Many people check their phones during meals or meetings, which signals a lack of attention and can make others feel ignored. In addition, short text messages and emojis often fail to convey tone, so misunderstandings occur more easily. A brief reply to a friend, for instance, may seem cold or angry even when no offense was intended. These problems show that technology can lower the quality of communication when it is used carelessly.

In conclusion, technology has strongly influenced interpersonal communication. While it can distract people and cause misunderstandings, its ability to keep people connected across distances makes its overall impact positive. The quality of communication ultimately depends on how thoughtfully people use these tools.
