# PTE results: timing, checking and sending scores

When PTE results arrive, how to see and send them, the score report, rescoring and validity, from Pearson's own pages.

## When results arrive

Pearson says most test takers get their results within two business days, and that some take up to five business days. Results are sometimes flagged for extra review, including security checks, which takes longer. If five working days have passed, check your spam folder, then contact Pearson.

## How to see your results

1. Watch for Pearson's email saying your score report is ready.
2. Sign in to myPTE (mypte.pearsonpte.com).
3. Open View Score, on the home page or under My Activity. You can also save it as a PDF for your own records.

## What the score report shows

The score report gives an overall score and four skill scores, Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, each from 10 to 90. The overall score isn't an average of the four: it reflects the whole test, and some tasks count towards two skills. The format didn't change with the August 2025 update.

Below the report, View Skills Profile shows how you did on groups of task types, with recommendations. Only you can see it. The old enabling skills (grammar, fluency and so on) were removed in November 2021.

What does your score mean? See the [PTE score chart](/pte/score-chart) for CEFR levels, IELTS equivalents and visa minimums.

## Sending your scores

- From myPTE: under My Activity, use Send scores (Pearson's 2026 guide calls it Share results) on your test, pick institutions and confirm. It's free, to as many as you like, up to seven at a time.
- With your Score Report Code: each test has its own code on the report. Institutions use it to look up and verify your scores with Pearson.
- Timing: an institution can see the score within about 48 hours.
- Printed or PDF reports aren't accepted by governments or institutions.
- Australia and New Zealand: if you chose them when booking, your score was shared automatically.
- UK visas (PTE Academic UKVI): the report has a SELT URN in its top banner; you enter it on your visa application.

## Rescoring

If you think a score is wrong, Pearson will have a human re-mark your whole test for US$160, asked for by phone within 14 calendar days of your results. Your score can go up or down, and the new score replaces the old one. A separate technical review (US$50) checks your session for audio problems but never changes your score.

Whether a rescore is worth it for your scores and target: see [PTE rescore: fee, rules and when it's worth it](/pte/rescore).

## How long scores are valid

A PTE Academic score is valid for two years from the test date. Pearson's test taker handbook says Australia's Department of Home Affairs accepts scores up to three years after the test date; check the Home Affairs page for your visa. For tests taken before 7 August 2025, Australia's previous score requirements still apply.

## If you need a higher score

You can book your next test as soon as your last results are out, but not before, and you can sit PTE up to 12 times in any 12 months. Pearson notes scores vary a little between attempts. Before you rebook, practise the tasks where you lost marks: start with the [free practice test](/pte/practice-test), then [the task types](/pte/practice).
